OUR PROGRAMS
Melanesia Education Development Foundation Inc (MEDF) currently has the following nationwide "Education Development Programs".
Future Scholarship Fund Program.
We have a Scholarship Program as "Future Scholarship Fund Program" to provide scholarships (sponsorships) to less fortunate children/students ranging from elementary, primary, secondary, technical, and tertiary education. We also sponsor short term community development training programs for rural and needy communities.
Fifty (50%) of scholarships provides for girls education and fifty percent (50%) provides for the boys.
Education Materials and Infrastructure Development Program.
We have an Education Materials and Infrastructure Development Program to provide learning material support to needy elementary, primary, secondary, technical, and tertiary schools with learning material supplies like: text and reading book materials, computers, computer periperials, video player equipments, radios, TV players, Video CDs, sewing machines, solar power equipments, electricity equipments, communication equipments, technical/skills training tools, vegetable seeds, uniforms (clothing), motor vehicle equipments, and general school supplies.
Under the Education Infrastructure Development component, we provide support to construction and development of building classrooms, dormitories, laboratories, internet cafes, libraries, teacher's houses, community halls, water supplies, telecommunication access, electricty access, school clinics, printing centers, road access to various needy schools and its host communities, etc.
Development of Education Institutions Program.
We have a Development of Education Institutions Program to provide support to development of complete new educational institutions (schools) for rural needy communities in Papua New Guinea.
Overseas Training Program.
We have an Overseas Training Program to provide support to students from Papua New Guinea to study overseas in any field of study on short and long term study programs.
